82 Hanover is a 40,000+/- square foot historic former industrial building in Portland’s Bayside Neighborhood. In the mid 1800s, much of what is now Portland’s Bayside neighborhood including the 82 Hanover site was within the back cover tidal zone. Over the following decades, the area was gradually filled in and became an important industrial center for the city. In 1946, as the area continued to evolve, the city constructed what is now the 82 Hanover building for the Public Works Department. In the last ten years, the area has undergone a rapid evolution and has become a desirable community with innovative housing options and exciting dinning and entertainment venues.

Maine Street Capital partnered with the developer to secure acquisition and construction financing for this historic property. The property was sold by the City of Portland through a competitive bidding process. The developer’s plans were in line with the goals of the community and the vision for this exciting and developing section of Portland.  The project is now stabilized and provides space for a diverse retail and office tenant mix. Tenants include Banded Brewing, Wilson County Barbecue as well as Port Property Management, the developer.
